Application Process

How do I apply?

First, look over the eligibility requirements below. Then fill out your application, and submit to the address below.

Eligibility:

  1. Junior or Senior in good standing at a Spokane County (Washington State) High School.
  2. Seventeen (17) years of age by deadline date.
  3. Grade point average of 3.0 or above.
  4. Strong interest in aviation career.
  5. Meets requirements of FAA Third Class physical.
  6. Waivers of (2) and (3), above, will be considered for otherwise exceptional candidates.

Deadline:

Applications must be received by April 1st.

Selection:

A committee will review applications and select a short list for personal interviews. (Applicants unable to attend the interview on the scheduled date will be considered on the basis of record only.) The review committee will select a primary candidate and a first and second alternate by May 1st.

Conditions:

Training will take place with Spokane Airways.

The scholarship will be applied towards costs associated with training, including ground school, training materials, dual and solo flights, aviation medical exam and stage and final flight and ground tests. Value: $1500   (Actual expenses to complete the training may exceed the scholarship gift amount.)

Training must be completed within one year of the date of selection.

Flight hours limited to the minimum required hours of 35.

Employees of Spokane Airways or their dependents are not eligible for this scholarship.
